Why we exist
To meet essential needs and equip adults and families with the support, skills and connections they need to live with stability, dignity and hope in their communities.
Programs & Services
Practical help, delivered with dignity.
Every program is free of charge. A navigator works with each person to identify needs and connect the right services.
Reentry Support
Release planning and hands-on support for people returning home from jail or prison.
- In-reach with courts, probation and detention centers
- Help obtaining state ID, birth certificates and Social Security cards
- Release kits with clothing, hygiene items and a phone
- Cognitive-skills groups that support lasting change
Recovery Support
Certified peer support specialists with lived experience walk alongside people in early recovery.
- Individual recovery planning
- Connection to treatment, including medication for opioid use disorder
- Volunteer peer mentors
- Follow-up at 30, 60 and 90 days
Overdose Prevention
Free naloxone and overdose-response training for participants, families and the community.
- Free naloxone (Narcan) kits
- Hands-on overdose-response training
- Kits provided at enrollment and at release
Workforce Readiness
Preparation, credentials and practical support to get hired and stay employed.
- Résumé help, interview coaching and job-readiness workshops
- Credentials such as ServSafe, OSHA-10 and forklift certification
- Interview clothing, work boots and uniforms
- Transportation assistance and 90-day job retention follow-up
Housing Navigation
Help finding safe, stable housing, including recovery housing, and keeping it.
- Housing search and placement support
- Security deposit and first month's rent, paid directly to the landlord or residence

Life Skills & Financial Literacy
Practical skills that help people manage money, keep commitments and build stability.

Recovery & Reentry Initiative
We are seeking funding to expand our work in Pitt County for people affected by substance use, especially those returning home from incarceration. With support from community partners, the initiative will add:
Recovery Support
Certified peer recovery navigators
Peers with lived experience who build recovery plans, connect people to treatment including medication for opioid use disorder, and stay engaged for 90 days and beyond.
Reentry
Jail, court and probation in-reach
Release planning that begins before release, with identification and vital documents, release kits and cognitive-skills groups.
Recovery Housing
Help securing a safe place to live
Security deposits and first month's rent paid directly to the landlord or recovery residence each participant chooses.
Employment
Credentials and job placement
A dedicated employment specialist, industry credentials, work attire, transportation help and job-retention follow-up.
Overdose Prevention
Naloxone distribution and training
Free naloxone kits and overdose-response training for participants and their families at enrollment and release.
Accountability
Outcome tracking and reporting
A participant tracking system that measures housing, recovery and employment outcomes and reports them to our funders.

Is there a cost for services?
No. All services provided by Life Abundantly Community Services are free of charge.
Do I need to share your faith to receive help?
No. Our organization is faith-rooted, and we serve everyone regardless of belief. Participation in any faith activity is always voluntary and is never a condition of receiving services.
Can I receive help without identification?
Yes. If you need identification or other documents, obtaining them can be part of your individual plan.
How is my information protected?
Your information is used only to provide services and is shared with a partner organization only with your written permission.
Can an agency refer someone to you?
Yes. We accept referrals from case managers, shelters, courts, congregations, family members and partner agencies, as well as self-referrals.
Which areas do you serve?
We currently serve Wake and Pitt Counties from our Raleigh and Greenville offices, and we are expanding to Nash, Halifax and Edgecombe Counties.
